    How does one contact administration?

OK, I'm not the brightest bulb on the street so I must be missing something.  How do I contact administration to report an issue?

I'm sure it's only minor or I goofed up somehow but there is something strange going on with my two of my "New Posts" that I'd like to get assistance with.

    Thanks.

This wonderful thing was set up by a chap called Terminaut. We owe him a debt of gratitude.

He has a great collection of very special bikes - mostly titanium. He used to post occasionally, but I don't think we've heard from him for quite some time.

    Where are you Terminaut?

    Hi gang. I'm here... :-)

I've been very tied up with activities outside of the website and appologize for the lack of interaction. I think it's time for me to appoint a moderator or two who'd like to volunteer and help out with the site. Anybody long-time members want to step up?  Stick out tongue

    Cheers,
    Tam

Hi there. I sent an email this morning in response to your PM so hopefully you will/have received it? Please let me know if the email did not get through.

    Cheers,

Thanks d_p and terminaut.  Certainly clears a lot up for me and sooths my vice of perfectionism.

I agree d_p "We owe him a debt of gratitude" I really look forward to some great reading not to mention the ideas and learning.  Quite refreshing.

    Ah, there you are!

Moderator, hmm. Well I'm certainly on here a lot. What else might be involved? I'm not 100% sure what a moderator actually does.

Yay... I think you'd be an excellent moderator and have enabled your account as such. There's no "official" guide for being a mod here other than you have the ability to perform forum maintenance if you so desire (ie. delete a duplicate post and stuff like that). You can also create forums or re-arrange the existing ones if you feel like it might be to the benefit if the site's visitors.

My whole interest from the very beginning in creating this site was to provide a friendly online environment for singlespeed enthusiasts... with a key difference from many other sites in that I don't want to have a bazillion commercial ads and tracking cookies annoying the user when they visit. There's really not much more to it.

    ^ +1

Like you said d_p you're already on this forum a lot as is.  I think you'd do a good job, you certainly come off to me as smart SS'r.  I don't want to talk you into anything you don't want responsibility for though and it is a responsibility and from my experience with other forums things can get pretty hectic at times.

I've already got a situation you can fix if you take the spot.

I'd volunteer but I not sure I could handle the responsibility. Big Smile

Re: How does one contact administration?

    Embarrassed

Well, it seems pretty much perfect as it is - so I think I could just about handle the responsibility of doing not very much at all. The absolute minimum is actually what I do best.  Cool

I'd still like to learn how to get photos in posts. Being a total computer dummy, I never did quite get the hang of that one... Could we get some instructions up somewhere? Could this be included in a 'How to use the site' forum? It'd be great to see a few more photos up.

Re: How does one contact administration?

This kind of stuff I could actually help with. And I wouldn't mind either. I'm a web developer when I'm not riding my bikes (which sadly is more often that I'd like).

Re: How does one contact administration?

I was actually a developer once. Yes, I was a late developer.  Party!!!

Yeah, it would be great to have some kind of useful info resource for dummies like me.
