A couple of us have been discussing weighty issues in another thread. What does yours weigh, and how do you feel about it?

quite like a bit of "substance " to me women

 

my little gt (silver one in pics bit) weighs 22lbs

think wheels/tyres next for swapping

however its not heavy enough to bother me unlike last weeks build ,a pace rc200 that weighs  24lbs with rc36 forks thought it would be 22 ish

The funny thing is, I have no idea how much my bike weighs, being as I don't have a scale in the house. But I know that it is a lot less than before the conversion, when it was a geary. I love that. I have a thing for lightweight backbacking, as well practice alpinism, where shedding as many pounds as possible while staying safe is part of the game. I think this habit is transferred to my mountain biking. Lightness isn't always best, but its hard to lose the mentality. On a kind of side note, I love combining climbing and cycling. Being able to carry what you need for a climb, and getting to the base on a bike, is refreshing. My alpinist tendencies are probably what brought me to SS in the first place.

Like WoodenArms - don't know what my bike weighs, though I'm pretty sure its quite heavy (OEM 29in steel frame with big tyres). I guess if I really cared I may have weighed it as we Do have some reasonably accurate scales.
