    Hey - I'm a very welcoming guy!

I have a suggestion - links. I've attempted to do that in a post, but nobody seems to like the idea! Many of the questions asked on this forum can be answered by sites with extensive FAQ areas, like Charlie the Bikemonger and Sheldon Brown. Also there are loads of, 'where do I get a.....?' questions.

Specialist SS links could be really good. It would also support those in the industry who provide for us with quirky, niche, low-volume product. No company makes SS stuff on a purely commercial basis - yes, even Trek. Do you think they'll ever make a proper return on that ugly 69 thing? I doubt it. Most brands only do SS because they have an SS enthusiast on the board or the design team - and he's argued long and hard to get the accountants to sign off the budget for his SS project. The big brands are one thing, but the small brands are quite another. The little CNC machine-shop guys and artisan frame-builders do it because they love it. The fact that it pays the bills is a bonus. These people are doing us a great service and will never get rich from it. I think they should be applauded, and their specialist SS products and services promoted.

    So - links?

I put the links page together at www.isaac-carbon.co.uk. Have a look. It worked out OK this way. I'll sneak Singlespeed.net on when I get back from Germany. Sheldon's there, and Drunk Cyclist!

hmmm. SS is more like an addiction than a perversion, I reckon. And it seems to get worse, I'm starting to seriously consider a fixie....
